Beginnings can be exciting when we can anticipate good things. God gives us His vision of the future to give us hope and to prove that He has everything in His control.
Daniel’s prophesy was partially fulfilled in 165-163 B.C. but its ultimate fulfillment will be sometime in the future. While God hasn’t given us the specifics of the timing, He has given us other details. And it’s all good news!
Unfortunately, few Jews read their prophets and fewer believe them. Worse, many churches are also ignorant of God’s plan for our future.
Daniel 9:24
“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.”
