Fear of the Lord – The Love of God

Fear and love seem to be opposites but they are just two facets of our relationship with God.

The Fear of the Lord is our response to the Shekinah glory of God. Our awe and even terror shows are respect for who He is.

The love of God is a part of His character that He gives to us. And as He loves us, we are to love Him and extend that love to others.

Both the Fear of the Lord and the love of God stimulate our total obedience. Both motivate and govern our behavior.

Genesis 20:10-11

Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you have in view, that you have done this thing?” And Abraham said, “Because I thought, surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will kill me on account of my wife.”

PRAY FOR GOD TO SEND THE FEAR OF THE LORD UPON ISRAEL THAT THEY WILL NOT SIN.
