God’s unique relationship with Israel and the nations is summed up in these three verses. The verse we skip today, we will pray tomorrow.
We have seen the word translated as “mercy” before. It is the Hebrew word: רַחֲמִים (rachamim) which comes from the root: רחם [racham] and means “a deep heart felt love.”
God will never forsake Israel or Jerusalem. Let the politicians and the religionists argue, God wins!
PRAY THAT ISRAEL WILL REST AND REJOICE IN GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE.
Zechariah 1:14, 16
So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:
“I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal.
‘Therefore thus says the Lord:
“I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’
