End Times: Preface
This vision of Daniel continues with a prophesy of the far distant future, but a future which now seems very near!
This vision of Daniel continues with a prophesy of the far distant future, but a future which now seems very near!
At this point in the prophesy, there was an historical pause. It is as though God has a stop-watch. The first 69 weeks moved, but now God paused for an undisclosed period of time. We are still in that pause.
At this point Daniel’s prophesy starts telling future events. This first is Yeshua’s crucifixion which was only a year or two away. The prophesy continues with exact dating. I wonder if the disciples remembered this part!
Yeshua could have simply pointed to the prophesy of Daniel which was given to the prophet in 539 BC commonly referred to as the 70-Weeks Prophesy.
The Apostles were expecting Yeshua to admire the beauty of the buildings of the Temple. But instead Yeshua gave them a warning. He had just wept over Jerusalem and knew what His beloved city faced.
It’s time to get out the map of the journey we’ve been taking and look carefully from today until what the Bible calls, “The Latter Days” and we are calling “End Times.”
The false prophet will be the “spiritual” or religious aspect of this false trinity. He will be given power by Stan to preform signs and wonders. He will not promote himself but bring the entire world into a false religion worshipping the anti-Christ.
We’ve seen that Satan’s greatest tool is deception. Since he cannot create, all he can do is copy what God (YHWH) has done. Scripture describes YHWH by the Hebrew word אֶחָד [echad] which, in English grammar, is a compound unity.
As Daniel prophesied, there will come the day when God will restore the Garden of Eden in His eternal kingdom. His requirements to enter is perfect righteousness.
The epic battle between good and evil started in eternity past, when “Lucifer,” a created being tried to do the impossible – usurp God’s authority.
