Until the end of this age, the enemies of God will continue to target Israel hoping to completely destroy her.

Remembering God’s Protection

God never changes.  Despite Israel’s unfaithfulness, God was always faithful.  When Israel was in doubt or distress, remembering God’s faithfulness in the past would bring hope.

Balak, king of Moab, offered the prophet Balaam great wealth to curse Israel.  Balaam agreed, but was constrained to only speak that which the Lord gave him to speak

God has promised Israel and to all those who have come to Him through faith in Yeshua, that His salvation and righteousness will never fail.  Despite challenges to our families, to our possessions and even to our lives, He will ultimately be victorious.  The challenges that we face today are because we live in a broken world and the battles we fight seem to be overwhelming.  But the real battle is against the “powers and principalities in the heavenly places” (Eph6:12 NKJV).  That is where the victory is!

Despite God’s shows of power over the nations and His protection of Israel, many nations refuse to surrender to the Lord God of Israel.  But one day, every eye will see Him, every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Yeshua is Lord!

Nehemiah first heard about the condition of Jerusalem in the same month when, less than 100 years later, the Jews would celebrate the rededication of the Temple!

And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin

The prophet reassured King Asa that God could always be found when the people looked to Him in faith.

God’s protection of Israel is primarily about His reputation. He chose Israel to be His witness so that through their unique relationship God would show the nations His faithfulness to His covenant with Abraham.
