God Reveals His Holiness – Exodus 34:7

God continued describing Himself to Moses reminding us that part of His goodness is His righteousness and justice.  His holiness demands punishment for sin. 

God Reveals His Glory- Exodus 34:5-6

God had already shown Moses His power, so Moses could certainly believe that God would help him lead Israel out of Egypt.  But Moses wanted more.   Moses wanted God to go with him.  Moses said, “If your presence does not go, do not bring us up from here.”  Then Moses asked for even more, “Please show me Your glory!” (Exodus 33:13-19.)

Yeshua Our Passover Lamb

God gave Israel very detailed instructions about the Passover lamb and Yeshua fulfilled every one of them.

The Sign of the Blood- Exodus 12:12-13

The blood of the lamb was a sign to God that the people believed in His provision and protection. Wherever the blood was, there could be no plague.

Yeshua as the Passover Lamb of God – John 1:29; Revelation 5:11-13

While John was baptizing the Jews in the Jordan, he saw Yeshua coming to the river.  Today we don’t really understand how startling John’s declaration was that Yeshua was the “Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.”  John was combining two holiday sacrifices – the Passover lamb and the goats of the Day of Atonement.
