February 23: Redemption and salvation

The Day of the Lord will be a terrible time not only for Israel, but also for the entire world.  God promises to only “save” Israel.

Jeremiah 30:4-7

 Now these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah.

 For thus says the Lord:

“We have heard a voice of trembling,
Of fear, and not of peace.
 Ask now, and see,
Whether a man is ever in labor with child?
So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins
Like a woman in labor,
And all faces turned pale?
 Alas! For that day is great,
So that none is like it;
And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble,
But he shall be saved out of it.”

The Hebrew word for “save” used here comes from the same root as the Hebrew name Yeshua. What’s interesting is the grammar of the word used.

The word is used as a simple action.  But it is only a portion of an event.  And it is often used for a continuous action.

Thus we don’t know the details of God’s “saving” Israel from the Day of the Lord.  We don’t know when or how He will save her.

PRAY FOR ISRAEL TO RECOGNIZE AND FOLLOW HER SAVIOR, YESHUA BEFORE THE DAY OF THE LORD!
