Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

God’s Grace

God’s Grace

Sadly many people think that the God of the Old Testament is different than the God revealed in the New Testament.  But we see through the story of Queen Esther that God is and has always been a God of grace.

The dramatic turn of events in our story hinged on Esther receiving grace/favor from the king.

In the Greek translation of the Old Testament, often the Hebrew word חָנַן [chanan] is translated as χάρις [charis].  This word is usually used with God as the subject, as He bestows grace upon the needy.  But in the story of Purim, we find the derivative חֵן [chen] being used primarily in a secular context where the focus is on the recipient; it describes how the king felt about Esther:

Esther 2:17

The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.

God extends the same grace and favor to all those who come to Him through faith in Yeshua.  One glance from you ravishes His heart. One cry from you, and He is ready and able to comfort and rescue you. You belong to each other in a covenant relationship for eternity.

PRAY ISRAEL ACCEPTS GOD’S OFFER OF GRACE AND FAVOR THROUGH KING AND MESSIAH YESHUA.
