Because so few Jews died from the Black Death, they were blamed for the plague in countries that spoke German, France and parts of Spain. They were accused of poisoning food and water.

The plague killed 50 million people which is over half of the population of Europe.  But few Jews died because they followed their sanitary rituals.  Nevertheless, they were blamed and 1/3 of the Jewish population was murdered. The persecution of the Jews followed the same pattern:

• Accusation
• Torture for confession
• Trial
• Burned at the stake
• Property given to the state

Renounce the lie

Make the Jews poor and humiliate them to force them to become Catholics

Replace with truth
