– Bits of Truth

Much of what the Replacement Theologians said had elements of truth.  The destruction of the Temple WAS a sign of God’s discipline against Israel’s rebellion and rejection of Yeshua.  Their exile was also prophesied. 

But what was missed by the Church was God’s love and faithfulness to His firstborn son.  God repeated continuously His promises to:

• Gather and return Israel to the promised land
• Redeem her that “all” Israel would be saved.
• Israel would be His people and He would be her God.

Justin Martyr was right that Jews, clinging to the Mosaic Covenant were blind and stubborn.  But he himself was blind in not seeing God’s faithfulness to lift that blindness!

Renounce the lie

Jews who cling to their faith in its old form are clinging to an obsolete doctrine.  For doing so they are blind and stubborn and insensitive a fossil people clinging to a superseded faith.

Replace with the truth

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. (Romans 11:25 NKJV)
