The Fear of the Lord and Worship
For the next few weeks, we will pray strategically for God to touch Israel (the Jewish people) with “Fear of the Lord.”
The Hebrew word for “fear” is יִרְאָה [yir·ä’] and is translated as “fear, terror, reverence.”
God described Himself to Moses as being merciful, gracious, patient, abounding in love and truth. Yet He was holy!
Israel could stand before Him in fear AND love. He was great, mighty and terrible, yet He is gracious to mankind.
The Fear of the Lord affects worship:
Psalm 5:7
But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
PRAY FOR GOD TO SEND THE FEAR OF THE LORD UPON ISRAEL
