-Provoke the Jews to jealousy

 Paul’s reminder to the Roman Christians is still important to the church today. One of God’s purposes for the Gentiles is to provoke the Israel to jealousy. Jealousy will lead to curiosity and then often to salvation.

God’s plan for Paul was to proclaim the Gospel to the Gentiles. Even so, his ministry would be enlarged when the Jews would be saved because they became jealous!

Romans 11:13-14

For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

Despite Paul’s extreme passion and concern for the Jewish people, today he is blamed and criticized

by them for starting a new religion!
