-The holy root

Today there is great debate about Paul’s use of the “root” in this passage. An entire movement continues to grow based on the interpretation that the root is Israel.

I disagree.

As Paul continues it is clear that the “root” is God. God is the holy root of the olive tree (Israel.) God is the root from which the olive tree is fed. God is the root from which both Jews and Gentiles can receive  blessings.

Therefore those who follow in faith ( the branches ) will be holy.

Romans 11:16 

For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

PRAY THAT ALL PEOPLE WILL SEEK NOURISHMENT FROM THE HOLY ROOT – GOD.
