Praise to God

God promised Moses that He would deliver Israel from the bondage of Egypt with mighty acts of power.

Exodus 6:6

 Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

The parting of the Red Sea was one of God’s most spectacular displays of power and protection of the Jewish people.  God continuously refers to Himself as “the God who brought you out of Egypt.”

Israel broke into a song of praise that is still recited every year at Passover celebrations and is a favorite Jewish folk song.

Exodus 15:1-2

Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying:

“I will sing to the Lord,
For He has triumphed gloriously!
The horse and its rider
He has thrown into the sea!
The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
He is my God, and I will praise Him;
My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.
