Redemption and salvation
The next verse is a reminder that the return of the Jews to the land of Israel is conjoined with her salvation.

Of all of God’s promises to Israel and to the Jewish people, perhaps this is the best…the promise we all long and pray for – when all Israel will be saved!
The Psalmist’s praise to God looked forward to the day when God would send His only begotten Son, Yeshua, to redeem and save Israel…and the world.
God saw that none were righteous, neither the king, the political leader, nor the shepherds, the spiritual leaders of His people. Therefore, God Himself would become the Good Shepherd.
In that day, when Yeshua returns to set up His kingdom in Zion, Israel will fulfill her destiny as she reveals God’s glory. And in that day she will become the jewels in God’s Crown of Glory.
Suddenly God speaks words of comforting prophesy; a time when God’s righteousness and justice will be manifested in Judah. The Covenant of Death will be broken and Israel will accept God’s Covenant of Life through faith in Yeshua, the tried, precious cornerstone!
As it was in Jeremiah’s day, many in Israel are still in rebellion, without fear of God. In Jeremiah’s day the answer to repentance and redemption was a return to the Law of Moses. Today the only answer is by God’s grace through faith in Yeshua. Only Yeshua is the way to God’s forgiveness. Only faith in Him can end the cycle of rebellion.
Josiah was one of the most righteous kings of the Southern Kingdom (Judah). He called the people to repent and return to the Lord. He destroyed all the high places where the people sacrificed to false Gods and committed terrible acts of rebellion.
God has given us the privilege and responsibility of proclaiming the Gospel. But ultimately salvation comes by the Holy Spirit of God.
Scripture is clear that there is an eternal life after death – a life with God with pleasures forevermore, or a life separated from Him of shame and gnashing of teeth. The choice of eternity must be made during this earthly life.
