Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

May they prosper who love you

- Psalm 122:6

The Law Giver

The Law Giver

The Law Giver

Despite man’s attempt to contradict the Bible, there is no viable explanation to the Creation other than the Biblical account.  God spoke everything into existence and holds it together by His will.

Genesis 1:1-3

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Light did not argue, the Creator simply called it into existence by His power.  Everything seen and unseen came and continues to exist through the will of God. In a word, He is sovereign over His creation putting all things under His perfect plan.

He is the law-giver.

Sadly, the understanding of God’s law has been perverted and thus distorts His character.

Psalm 19:7-11

The law of the Lord is perfect,  converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.

One of the greatest lies of the church is that, “Under the New Testament we are under God’s grace and mercy, not under the law.”  Since God doesn’t change, He has always been a God of law, grace and mercy. Why else would He have made a way for sinful man to approach and be reconciled?
