There is an aspect of the Jewish tradition for the Days of Awe that has biblical truth. One day, we WILL all pass before the King, God Most High, for a thorough inspection. At that time, He will pay close attention to everything we did, said and thought.
Exodus 34: 6-7
And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
The word translated “visiting” [paqad] means to punish, observe, be called to account.
God will also judge the nations, especially how they treated Israel.
Joel 3:1-2
“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.
Preparing to be judged by the King is important to Israel, to the Church and to all people.
PRAY FOR THE FEAR OF THE LORD TO FALL ON ISRAEL AND ON YOUR NATION.
