God’s unique relationship with Israel is also displayed in His relationship with David. Psalm 89 speaks of God’s relationship with David and with Messiah. First it tells of His relationship with Messiah Yeshua. This Messianic prophesy speaks to both God’s covenant with David and to the New Covenant with Yeshua.
Psalm 89:24-29
I will love him and be faithful to him.
Because of me his power will increase.
25 I will give him a great kingdom.
It will reach from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates River.
26 He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father.
You are my God. You are my Rock and Savior.’
27 I will also make him my oldest son.
Among all the kings of the earth, he will be the most important one.
28 I will continue to love him forever.
I will never break my covenant with him.
29 I will make his family line continue forever.
His kingdom will last as long as the heavens.
God is faithful and merciful and the book of John describes Yeshua that way, too. This shows that God the Father and the Son are one!
John 1:16-17
God is full of grace. From him we have all received grace in place of the grace already given. 17 In the past, God gave us grace through the law of Moses. Now, grace and truth come to us through Jesus Christ.
PRAY FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE TO RECOGNIZE YESHUA IN THIS PSALM.
