Lawlessness

Last week we focused on Yeshua’s prophesy through Luke who gave us a unique perspective.

Now we return to Matthew and Mark as they continued to warn us of the signs that would be the beginning of sorrows which were to come and have come now in our lifetime. 

Many of these signs will be exactly the same in the future as what happened in 70 AD.  (Matthew 24:6-7; Mark 13:7-8)

And Matthew records another sign, one that is prevalent today – lawlessness.

Matthew 24:11-12

Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

To understand “law-less-ness” we need not look at the effect, but the cause.  Obviously law-less means “without law.” 

So now we need to ask fundamental questions:

• What Law?
• Whose definition of law?
• What is the purpose of that law?

Then we can understand the result that Yeshua warned would be a sign of the “beginning of sorrows.”
