For most of Israel’s life as a country, she has been hated by her neighbors. Enemies from inside and outside have tried to destroy her. But what God did for King David He continues to do for Israel. These words are just as true today as they were when David praised God for saving him from his enemy.
2The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.3I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be
praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
David uses many words to describe God’s protection, but the one with the greatest importance is one we’ve seen many times before: יִשְׁעִי (from the root ישע – ysha) which, in its various forms, is translated as “saved,” “salvation,” and savior. God is Israel’s protector, deliverer, and savior.
PRAY ISRAEL WILL TURN ONLY TO GOD FOR PROTECTION, DELIVERANCE AND SALVATION.
