Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

May they prosper who love you

- Psalm 122:6

February 1: Israel’s righteousness

February 1: Israel’s righteousness

Paul used two words, righteousness and justification, which are related but have slightly different meanings.

“Righteousness” focuses on character. “Justification” is mostly a legal term that means being declared innocent of guilt.

1 Corinthians 6:10-12

[And such were some of you.] But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

A bit later Paul explains why and how God considers a person righteous. But the when is at the moment you put your faith in Jesus.

Romans 10:4

For Jesus is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Justification comes to all who will believe; but becoming “righteous” is a process.

PRAY FOR ALL ISRAEL TO BECOME JUSTIFIED AND RIGHTEOUS THROUGH FAITH IN THE MESSIAH, JESUS.
