God judges sin

The second reason for God’s judging the Gentile (nations and individuals) is because of sin.

Jeremiah 30:23-24

Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord

Goes forth with fury,

A continuing whirlwind;

It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.

The fierce anger of the Lord will not return until He has done it,

And until He has performed the intents of His heart.

In the latter days you will consider it.

God’s definition of sin is very different than man’s.  God described Himself to Moses as being a compassionate, merciful and ready to forgive, but He would not forgive the guilty.

Exodus 34:7a

…keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty,

So how does the guilty find forgiveness?  Through confession, repentance and faith!
