The Psalmist cries out to God to punish his enemies.  He reasons that he is deserving because of his own righteousness.  He also reasons that God should punish his enemies because they are wicked.

He is right that God is a just God who does reward the righteous and punish the wicked.

However, the Psalmist is wrong and is in danger if God judges him according to his righteousness.  Man has no righteousness except for the righteousness of Jesus.

Psalm 7:7-11

Let the assembled peoples gather around you,
while you sit enthroned over them on high.
Let the Lord judge the peoples.
Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity, O Most High.
 Bring to an end the violence of the wicked
and make the righteous secure—
you, the righteous God
who probes minds and hearts.

My shield is God Most High,
who saves the upright in heart.
God is a righteous judge,
a God who displays his wrath every day.

PROCLAIM, “O ISRAEL, STOP TRYING TO BE RIGHTEOUS IN YOUR OWN STRENGTH, ACCEPT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF JESUS!
