Most of the time the writers of the Psalms use “the wicked” with “the nations.”  God judges nations and judges individuals.  We saw that when God punished the entire nation of Egypt because of the rebellion of Pharaoh.  But God also offered salvation to any person who would find safety under the sign of the blood of the Jewish homes.

Psalm 125:3-5

The fist of the wicked    will never violate

What is due the righteous,    provoking wrongful violence.

Be good to your good people, God,    to those whose hearts are right!

God will round up the backsliders,    corral them with the incorrigibles.

Peace over Israel!

PRAY FOR THE SCEPTER OF THE WICKED WILL HAVE NO MORE INFLUENCE OVER ISRAEL.
