This prophesy is being fulfilled more and more every year. More Jewish people are returning to Israel and more are finding salvation in Yeshua.. But there are still millions of Jews that have yet to come “home.”
There will come a day when God will gather all the Jewish people and bring them back to their promised land. That will be a most visible proof of God faithfulness to Israel.
There will come a day when God judges and completely destroys Babylon. But in the midst, God will bring back the remnant of Israel who will return in repentance. At that time, all Israel will be saved!
Before the end of the 19th century, only the faithful knew that there would come a day when God would bring His people back to His land. God has always had a plan and a purpose for the Jews to be in the land He promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
God’s promise to the Jews should be shouted from every corner of the world!
God’s regathering of Israel is evidence of His unique relationship with them. Around the world we see citizens of one country seeking refuge in another country. But only the Jews are coming “home” by the hand of God.
Because of her rebellion, Israel was sent off to Babylon; but God promised that it would only last for 70 years.
We don’t know from the context of Isaiah’s words what was the danger Israel was facing. Regardless, her desperate cry reminds God of His faithfulness in the past and His promise for the future.
