We don’t understand God’s ways. It looked as though the enemy had retreated. But instead, life got much worse for Israel. Antiochus sought to divide the people. He persecuted and tortured those who remained faithful to YHWH and extended favor and benefits to those who would turn away from God.
Hitler considered the Jews to be “The cause of every problem, the destroyer, the poisoner of Aryan blood, and the epitome of evil.”
Slowly but methodically he moved towards the goal of Jewish annihilation, which he called “The Final Solution.”
The battle is not between Jews and Gentiles. The battle is between God and Satan fought out between the Seed of Woman, Yeshua, and Satan. The players in this battle are the Jews (Israel) versus everyone else!

Yet from the time of Jacob to the birth of Yeshua, God wanted the Jewish people to be separate from the influence of the Gentile nations. In fact, that was the purpose of the Mosaic Covenant.
Imagine a large tree with a huge trunk. Suddenly the tree splits in half with the two sides rising parallel into the skies. This is the best picture of what happened in the first century between the Jewish and the Gentile followers of Yeshua.
