January 19: Christian Anti-Semitism – The Church vs the Synagogue
Christianity was recognized as an official religion and greatly favored during the reign of Constantine in the 4th century. While the church was granted great religious freedoms, the Jews lost many of theirs. The building of churches was encouraged, but building synagogues was forbidden.
