November 17: The nations
Finally the families of Esau and Jacob separated.

All nations, lands and people belong to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Isaiah’s prophesied that the Gentiles would become servants to Israel “in that day.”

The curses listed in Deuteronomy 28, which Israel endured for her disobedience, will be put upon her enemies.

From the time God spoke these words to Zechariah until this very day, nation after nation are turning their backs to Israel, blaming her for the continual trouble in the world and even supporting her enemy.

Although this warning was given to Israel, it applies all nations.

You can almost hear God’s sadness as He reflects on His punishment of the northern tribes (aka Israel). But as a good Father, He must discipline His children.

To threaten Israel and the Jewish people is to actually threaten God. Assyria learned this lesson when God answered King Hezekiah prayers for help.
The nations who are determined to destroy Israel and the Jewish people wherever they may be found, should remember the end of the story.

As we pray this today, another terror attack has killed a young Israeli and wounded another.
