God’s unique relationship with Israel: Jerusalem Day
Today Israel celebrates the reunification of her capital city, the only city in the world which God has chosen as His own.

This day was chosen to make the historic move of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The move was chosen to align with the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence on May 14, 1948. However, because Israel functions on the Julian rather than the Gregorian calendar the actual anniversary was April 19th! That gives us two days to celebrate!
At sundown last night, the Jewish people began to celebrate Jerusalem Day. This national holiday started after Israel’s victory in the Six Day War (June 1967)

God’s promises to Israel and to Jerusalem are only partially fulfilled. One day all nations will rejoice and praise God for His faithfulness to Israel and to “The Church.”
